Understanding Delivery Periods
Deliveries > Scheduling > Understanding Delivery Periods

In order to accommodate your customers many different delivery requirements, Service Manager creates a calendar and assigns the different delivery periods to each day.

The standard delivery periods are:

Within Service Manager each of these delivery frequencies uses a different code. As shown in the below table.

Frequency Codes
Weekly ABCD
Fortnightly AC, BD
Monthly A, B, C, D
6 Weekly 6(1), 6(2), 6(3), 6(4), 6(5), 6(6)
8 Weekly A1, B1, C1, D1, A2, B2, C2, D2
12 Weekly 12(1), 12(2), 12(3), 12(4), 12(5), 12(6), 12(7), 12(8), 12(9), 12(10), 12(11), 12(12)
Yearly Y(1) - Y(52)

A Calendar showing how the weekly, fortnightly and monthly codes flow:

By using the code method you only need to allocated the customer to a delivery period once. As you can see the following month all the codes just repeat.

If you wanted weekly services you would just pick A+B+C+D (ABCD)

If you wanted fortnightly services you could put them onto the A+C Weeks (AC) or the B+D Weeks (BD)

if you wanted monthly you would pick just one of A,B,C or D

You can mix and match frequencies for a single customer. As an example they may want some items service weekly but others monthly.

12 weekly uses the same flow as the 6 and 8 weekly with an additional 4 weeks. This enables you to schedule a service a customer once every 12 weeks choosing which week of the 12 that would be.

The yearly deliveries are self explanatory in that you just pick which week of the year you would like the service.

On the home screen in the top right hand corner there is always a label showing the current weeks delivery period in full.

 This week shows as:

A - The first week of the weekly, fortnightly and monthly cycles

A2 - The 2nd week of the 8 weekly cycle

6(3) - The 3rd week of the 6 weekly cycle

12(9) - The 9th week of the 12 weekly cycle

Y(21) - The 21st week of the yearly cycle

You may wonder why we don't show the Weekly, Fortnightly and Monthly letters. This would actually show as A/A/A/A2/6(3)/12(9)/Y(21) as you can see the 'A' just repeats. Visually therefore it's easier to keep the one A.
